In 1986, Jean Claude chose to expand the business by opening a 3,500 square foot salon in Stuyvesant Plaza. The move proved to be successful. Three years later a second location was opened in the Plaza and is now the Spa de Beaute, offering a wide range of spa treatments and hair services. Born in Valmorel in the French Alps, Jean Claude has transformed 'Jean Paul' into a household word, providing world class services in the Capital Region for over 30 years. Co-owners Jean Claude Simille and brother Paul Simille started their business with a small salon on Central Avenue, later moving to downtown Albany. It was there, at the DeWitt Clinton Building on State Street that Jean Claude became a world-renowned hair stylist.
